METZ Phones 5.0 Now Shipping
Offers Network, Workgroup Support

Bellevue, Wash. -- METZ Software has today announced it is
shipping METZ Phones 5.0, a major upgrade to its existing
Windows(TM) address and telephone manager.  METZ has targeted
the networked office that needs to solve address and telephone
management problems.  METZ Phones will carry a SRP of $89.

"There is a growing need to simply and effectively manage common
address and telephone databases on networked PCs," said Art Metz,
President of METZ Software.  "We developed METZ Phones to fill
the need, giving workgroups and networked offices easy access to
shared database information."

METZ Phones features support for a wide variety of networks, yet
works well as a stand-alone product.  Extensive printing support
includes pre-defined and custom labels, envelopes and a variety
of report formats.  Additional features include easy data import
and export, a hotkey "dialer" that works from any Windows
application and comprehensive searching and sorting capabilities.

METZ Phones 5.0 is available directly from METZ Software at an
introductory price of $49; registered users of any METZ Software
product can purchase Phones at the upgrade price of $29.  A
full-featured trial version of Phones is available for download
from METZ Software's CompuServe and America Online forums.  On
CompuServe type GO METZ; on America Online choose the goto keyword
of METZ, or contact METZ Software to order a trial disk.

Instructions for downloading and installing the Trial version of
METZ Phones 5.0.

The cost is $9 (US, Canada, Mexico) or $15 (International) which
includes shipping and handling.

To download the files:
   CompuServe
1.   Type GO METZ
     or from WinCIM choose the Services - Go command, enter "METZ".
     This takes you to the WINAPC forum.
2.   Choose Library - Browse.
3.   Select METZ Software.
4.   Download METZ Phones 5.0 part 1 of 2 (PART1.EXE) and
              METZ Phones 5.0 part 2 of 2 (PART2.EXE) files.
     Place the files in an empty directory if you can.

   America Online
1.   Choose the GoTo - Keyword command.
2.   Enter "METZ" and choose OK.
3.   Open the Software Library.
4.   Download METZ Phones 5.0 part 1 of 2 (PART1.EXE) and
              METZ Phones 5.0 part 2 of 2 (PART2.EXE) files.
     Place the files in an empty directory if you can.

To create an installation disk from the download:
1.  To create an installation floppy disk, insert a blank formatted
    high density 3.5" floppy disk.
2.  From the DOS prompt:
    Switch to the floppy disk (A: or B:)
3.  From the floppy disk run PART1.EXE, then PART2.EXE from your hard
    drive.  If you downloaded the files to C:\DOWNLOAD - run
    C:\DOWNLOAD\PART1.EXE and C:\DOWNLOAD\PART2.EXE.
    The Phones install files will then be expanded onto the floppy disk.
4.  From Windows, run A:\INSTALL.EXE or B:\INSTALL.EXE to complete
    the installation process.
5.  You can now delete the PART1.EXE and PART2.EXE files.

To install from the download directory:
1.  From the DOS prompt:
    Switch to the download directory (i.e. C:\DOWNLOAD).
2.  Run PART1.EXE and PART2.EXE.
3.  The Phones install files will then be expanded into the directory.
4.  From Windows, run INSTALL.EXE - installing METZ Phones to a
    separate directory.
5.  You can now delete the PART1.EXE and PART2.EXE files.
